AnimAlphabet the Musical

at South Hill Park, Review by Terry Adlam

I saw this production in development in February and thought that ‘Hit The Mark Theatre’ had a show with a lot of potential and I was right.

AnimAlphabet has blossomed into a bright, vibrant and enjoyable family musical.

Primarily aimed at young children, Animalphabet has enough variety and energy to appeal to kids of all ages and if the mum who was sitting next to me laughing and singing along was anything to go by, parents as well.

With enthusiastically animated actors, colourful puppets and costumes and some catchy songs, courtesy of Al and Sam of The Hoosiers, joining Colin the Cockatoo and his AnimAlphabet friends trying to save Treble Cleft Island from the malevolent mallard, Calando, who wants to ban music, was an hour well spent.

This fun show is touring the UK this summer including a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where I am sure it will ‘Hit The Mark’ with every performance.
